It is the first purpose-built centre in Australia to provide a strong and identifiable base for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students on a university campus. Light-filled and open and incorporating natural building materials such as wood and stone, the building is based on curved lines distinctly different from most of the other buildings on campus.
