One of the things that I love the most is Curtin’s global footprint

I am the Founder and President of Interactive Science Programs (ISP). ISP is the largest science and math outreach company in the United States owned and operated by African Americans. Since 1992 ISP has provided programs for almost 1 million students, teachers and parents around the US and internationally. ISP was initially formed to combat the under-representation of African Americans & women in STEM based careers. That is still our focus along with narrowing the gap in African American and at risk student educational achievement. We go to schools and provide hands-on science enrichment, professional development, summer science camps, science and curriculum consulting, etc. All of our professional development and student programs are correlated to the Common Core Framework for Science and Next Generation Science Standards established in the United States.

Getting my PhD from Curtin was a big step in taking me and my company to even bigger and better things. The experiences that I had while a student at Curtin are unforgettable. The assistance I received from Professor Barry Fraser and the staff at Science and Mathematics Education Centre (SMEC) made the whole experience wonderful. One of the things that I love the most is Curtin’s global footprint. I hope to connect and do research with other professors at SMEC in the future. I am always open to coming back to Australia and working with Curtin as a visiting professor. Thanks Curtin University.
