I would just like to take the opportunity to show my appreciation and gratitude

I am a transsexual-woman and I was so fortunate to be able to come out and transition in a supportive, accepting, and non-judgemental environment, while doing my PhD, and now working as a PostDoc here in Curtin University, Chemistry Department. The research environment here is also more open and less uptight with strict business/formal “dress codes” (as compared to many other places), allowing me to freely explore and express myself in terms of fashion during my transitioning, which have also been shown to promote innovative/creative/”out-of-the-box” thinking and attitude within the work environment (which is extremely beneficial especially in research). I would just like to take the opportunity to show my appreciation and gratitude here. 🙂
