This period at WAIT was one of excitement and extraordinary achievement

I joined WAIT over 46 years ago and was privileged to participate in and experience the rapid organisational growth of the Institute. I progressed through positions of Education Development Officer (1970-71), Head of External Studies (1972) and Special Assistant (Planning) to the WAIT Director, Dr Haydn Williams (1973). I was a Foundation Member of the School of Teacher Education (1974) and held the positions of Head of Department (1974-76), Dean of the Faculty (1977-81) and also Acting Assistant Director (Academic) in 1981. This period at WAIT was one of excitement and extraordinary achievement. I owe WAIT a debt of gratitude for my career development to Director, Phillip Institute of Technology, Melbourne (1982-91) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor RMIT University (1992-94).
