Curtin Volunteers! has been the best part of my ‘Curtin journey’

Honestly, Curtin Volunteers! has been the best part of my ‘Curtin journey’ because I’ve got to meet so many people. I took 11 volunteers to Rottnest Island over a weekend, putting mesh guards around trees to ensure the quokkas don’t eat the leaves. It was a beautiful setting to work – you didn’t actually realise you were working. To be honest, I was also empathetic to a fault, because I needed to make sure my volunteers were having a good time. I think I annoyed my volunteers by asking them 150 questions about whether they were all right and having fun.
