I did my PhD at Curtin from 2004 and completed in 2008. It was truly an experience for me because I went in after my proposal and was awarded the IPRS for a study on stroke self management. When I came in, I had to re align to another area of research.
My strongest memories was sitting in the PhD lab, all alone, trying to re-organize another proposal on Christmas Eve, my birthday.
One of my happiest memories was when my family flew in to join me for a visit around Perth and Margaret River. Of the many people, I find Professor Lorna Rosenwax inspiring as she wears many hats, and sitting on significant chairs like – Sub Dean (Health Sciences) in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, and now, as the Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor. She was the head of school at that time.
