The night was a celebration of Curtin’s success and growth as it matured from a technology institute to a globally renowned university.
Throughout the anniversary year, the University has recognised the contribution of staff, alumni and partners, and a large number of corporate, government and industry partners joined past and present senior staff to celebrate at the Gala Dinner.
Premier Mark McGowan and Her Excellency Governor Kerry Sanderson were special guests and speakers, and the event also included a video tribute to Curtin’s former leaders, many of whom were able to attend.
The artwork Flock, by Curtin alumnus Andrew Nicholls, was commissioned for the anniversary, and commemorative plates featuring a detail from the work were given to each guest.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry said there was a great sense of warmth and engagement from all who attended the special evening.
“The dinner was a wonderful and inspiring celebration of all Curtin and WAIT have achieved with our partners and staff over the past five decades, and of the University’s contribution to WA and to all our communities.”
