Recognising the impact that my education had led me to mentor young people

As the founding director of Verity Consulting, I work as an advisor to governments and businesses on international expansion and growth. My passion is to help organisations go from local to global, creating opportunities for the communities they operate in.

After studying marketing as an undergraduate student at Curtin, I went on to do my PhD in information systems. Just as many of my teachers over the years have been, Mr Carl Jacob, my research supervisor during my PhD, was a major source of inspiration. I benefitted enormously from his patience and generosity. He is more than just a teacher to me – he’s a great mentor, counsel and role model.

Recognising the impact that my education has had on my career has led me to dedicate time to mentoring young people, promoting leadership and leading non-profit organisations. Apart from having great joy being an educator, I am passionate in supporting causes that empower young women and entrepreneurship. Serving as an elected Vice President on the United Nations Association of Australia (WA) and previously on the United Nations Women International Women’s Day Committee, my biggest goal is to bridge the profit and non-profit space, helping companies be more socially conscious. Some of my notable achievements in recent years include the Singapore Management Consultant of the Year 2015, the State Government’s WA Multicultural Recognition Awards 2016 for Outstanding Individual Achievement, and Outstanding Volunteer and the Curtin Alumni Community Service Award 2015.

I love that Curtin has this vibrant and youthful environment, and it is always forward-looking. If you are looking for practical experience and great lecturers with industry knowledge, Curtin is the place for you!
